Mayflower College is very proud of the relationships it has built with its partner organisations ...
colleges, universities, companies, embassies, ministries, agents etc.
Mayflower College aims to build long-lasting, mutually beneficial relationships centred on a high-
quality, student-centred service and based on mutual honesty and trust.
We have been working with MAYFLOWER COLLEGE for nearly 10 years.
We have had many groups of French students sent to Plymouth. And the results have been, without exception, outstandingly successful, from
all points of view : choice and information of host-families, transport, English classes, activities and outings, relationship with monitors, with
students and... with us. Of course the possibility for our students to mix with other participants coming from other countries is a tremendous
asset, extremely well managed by the College.
When programmes are so repeatedly appreciated by all people concerned, it is not without reasons : constant efforts, attention to details,
capacity to listen, flexibility, goodwill and sympathy towards young students.
I have personally a long and varied experience in the field of educational and linguistic programmes, whether in the UK or in other parts of the
world. I can make comparisons. There are not so many other partners with which we feel so confident, and which are so trustworthy. So, with
total sincerity, I do recommend MAYFLOWER and add : you won’t regret it !

We have been working with Mayflower College since 1993, regularly sending junior
and adult students (including teachers and executives)
Mayflower offers a really good level of teaching, qualified and kind teachers who
deal with our students nicely and who are always understanding.
Flexibility is one of the greatest merits - when there is any request it is immediately
dealt with.
In the course of the last 20 years, 95% of the host families were more than
satisfying for our students, those juniors and adults, and the missing 5% can be
ascribed to personal incompatibility.
Devon and Cornwall are the most gorgeous parts of Great Britain - Dartmoor and the
Cornish coastal area especially appeal to our students.
We can rely on the Mayflower staff under every circumstance. We can have extra
demands ranging from special dietary requests to excursion-related wishes. Let alone any questions about non-closely related topics, e.g. work
opportunities, study projects, etc.
During the recruitment and organizational periods we can get all the info within the shortest possible time with the greatest possible precision.
The accounting and other finance-related issues are prompt and fair.

SABEL, Germany
In 1989 the SABEL School contacted Paul Stevens, Director of the Mayflower College, and organized the first Programme for a group of
pupils. The programme was so interesting and so well organized than the SABEL School continues until now to co-operate with the
Mayflower College in Plymouth for more and more programmes.
The number of students has increased continually over the many years and the type of programmes change. In the last 10 years the
SABEL School has sent more than 60 students per year to the Mayflower College. The target groups are varied from teenagers to adults,
the content of the courses was adapted to the groups: it was General English or Business English courses with project or work
placements. The duration has been variable depending on the target group.
The accommodation with the host families is for all our students a very nice experience that improves the relationship with native
speakers and the communication in English. Very often our students continue to have contact with them.
The flexibility, the adaptability, the serious organization, the professionalism, the good quality of the teaching and the friendliness of the
staff are the main reasons why we have co-operated with the Mayflower College for so many years and why we will continue the co-
operation a long time into the future.
The location near the sea and the possibility of organizing very nice excursions in Devon and in Cornwall with so many interesting sights
are a very important factor as well organized by the Mayflower College.
The SABEL participants, students and teachers, like to remember the fantastic time at the Mayflower College and recommend the College
to the new people who are looking for a good and serious Language School with a nice environment. We enjoy every year our time there
and would like to spend still more time in the future. Thank you so much for everything!
Marie-Francoise RAGUY-SÈNE - Director of the international Programmes
I had my first experience with Mayflower College in January of 1995. I fell in love with the place and the people.
My students and I were really excited about everything we had - classes, families, excursions etc. Actually that was my first experience and since
that time I’ve been to many places here in England as well as in Ireland, the States, Canada, however, each time I compare Mayflower College
with other places I visited - it definitely wins. I think it is because of the caring and cooperative staff in the office who are ready to help in
different situations, they do their best to make it easier for us (my friend and me) to arrange our trips, to select really good families, to book
interesting places for us to visit. We bring our students in summer, it’s holiday time for them, thanks to teachers who manage to balance fun
and necessity our students never tend to miss classes. Interactive activities, quizzes, talent shows involve them in natural language practice.
Activity programs combine historically
interesting and developing things with
amusing and entertaining, discos are
definitely good addition to them all.
Parents keep sending their children to
Plymouth and recommend the place to
friends and colleagues, word-of-the-mouth
works much better than any advertising.
So, to put it in a nutshell, the place is value
for money which is really important in our
highly competitive world. Great job, guys,
keep the pace!

Mayflower
College
for
several
years,
for
both
adult

Based
on
positive

in

we
also

This

From

I

say
the
students
at
Mayflower

are
just
happy!
Teachers
and
other

are
really
open-minded
and
so
easygoing
with
students,
still
strict on rules and taking good care of teenagers.
Both
adults
and
juniors
students
appreciate
lessons
given
by
experienced
teachers,
variety
of
social
activities,
as

André Le Saout, France
I don't know when I first heard about Mayflower College. It must be 1995, or was it before?
I first went to another English school which didn't suit me. Then I joined Mayflower and we have worked together ever since. Every year
I take my 16- to 22-year-old students for a period of three weeks ( + engineering school employees and executives).
For me Mayflower College is the only place to get a perfect balance between linguistic progression (5 hours a day, experienced teachers
in a well-equipped place, experienced families) and well-being (tennis, pub, meetings, theatre, international exchanges) in a very
central district by the sea.
Even more important, my students always
experience the feeling of being secure and safe in
the city (meeting with the families at the ferry-port,
24-hour security cell phone, excellent families
provided, bus passes, etc.)"
If anybody needs further information please email
me.

I
have
been
traveling
to
Plymouth
with
the
groups
of
my
pupils
since
1994.
During
these
years
hundreds
of
my
pupils
have
been
the
students
of
the
Junior
Activity
Course
at
Mayflower
College,
and
now
lots
of
them
still
remember
this
experience
as
one
of
the
most
important
periods
of the life.
Mine
were
the
first
Russian
children
to
study
at
the
college.
We
loved
Plymouth
and
Mayflower
College
at
the
first
sight,
and
still
very
many
of
the junior students do not hesitate to visit Plymouth for the third or fourth time. I can explain this by several reasons.
First,
the
spirit
of
Plymouth
itself
seems
very
special,
very
attractive.
With
my
groups
I
have
visited
a
lot
of
places
in
Great
Britain
and
Ireland,
but
only
Plymouth
we
can
consider
as
our
“hometown”,
to
come back again and again.
Next,
the
work
with
Mayflower
College
has
always
been
extremely
positive
and
efficient.
The
host
families,
thoroughly
chosen,
the
really
qualified
teachers
and
interesting
classes,
the
various
activity
programs,
the
most
effective
management
–
these
are
the
reasons
why
we
have
remained
so
devoted
to
the
college.
We
have
had
a
very
reliable
visa
support,
and
this
is
one
of
the
most
important
points
during
the
preparation
period.
If
we
plan
a
trip
to
London
or
any
other
place
of
interest,
the
college
is
always
ready
to
help
us
with
booking, transfer and so on. No request remains without attention, no student remains unhappy!
My
students
and
I
would
like
to
say
lots
of
thanks
to
Paul
Stevens,
Director
of
Mayflower
College,
and
the
brilliant
team
who
have
been
working there for such a long time - Jill, Aaron, Laura, Neil, Steve, Jonathan, Jan, Ross and many others!

My dear friends at Mayflower College.
It is with great pleasure that I write this testimonial.
I
am
very
pleased
in
sharing
my
experience
with
your
institution
and
working
with
you
for
so
many
years.
Finding
an
English
language
school
in
which
I
can
be
confident
not
only
in
the
academic
results
but
in
the
lovely
caring
to
my
students
was
a
goal
that
I
had
for
so
many
year.
That
search
led
me
to
your
school back in 1988.
Since
then
and
through
all
these
years
I
have
been
able
to
hear
nothing
more
than
positive
comments
from
my
students.
Your
lessons
are
well
organized,
teachers
are
excellent
and
the
social
activities
included
in
the
afternoon
and
on
Saturdays
help
to
enhance
the
cultural
immersion
students
are
having.
High
school
students
and
adults
have
enjoyed
your
programs
and
most
importantly
have
confirmed
that
you
deliver
what
you
offer.
Almost
all
the
students
that
I
have
sent
have
been
able
to
get
higher
results
in
their
language
proficiency
when
they
return
to
Ecuador. The homestay component also provides the warmth that all students need to feel when they are far away from home.
In
addition,
the
staff
and
administration
are
always
willing
to
go
“the
extra
mile”
to
help
students
feel
not
only
comfortable
but
always
welcome.
Thanks for working with me.
